On Monday, April 28, 2008, Nine Irish Brothers will be partnering with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to raise money for cystic fibrosis research. Cystic fibrosis is the number one genetic killer of children and young adults: Over 30,000 people in the US have it, and many more are carriers of the gene (you need both recessive genes to be affected). Currently, the average life expectancy is 37 years, which has risen almost 2 years in the last year. Twenty years ago many children didn’t live to see adulthood.
Nine Irish Brothers will donate a portion of the day's proceeds to the foundation in support of research to end cystic fibrosis. In addition, members of the foundation will be conducting a 50/50 raffle and selling roses in their annual "65 Roses" sale.
