Known for their high-octane, hard-driving Celtic rock tunes, Highland Reign returns to Nine Irish Brothers on Friday, May 15th, 2009 at 9 PM. From Indianapolis, this band takes the tunes of the old country and breathes new life into them, with traditionals such as "The Scolding Wife" to originals such as "Down the Pint." This band brings the union to traditional Celtic and good ol' rock and roll to pleasing new levels.
One of the greats, Hogeye Navvy stops by Nine Irish Brothers on Saturday, May 9, for an evening of toe-tapping traditional Irish music. This vastly talented veteran band features a wide array of songs, from ballads to sea shanties, from jigs & reels to sing alongs. While this band already has quite a loyal following, I'm sure they wouldn't mind a few more "hog heads" to add to the group!
Join us on Friday, May 8 at 9 PM as Nine Irish Brothers welcomes a new band, Second Fiddle. Second Fiddle is a six-member band that plays Celtic folk music with some contemporary sounds thrown into the mix. Band members are Eric Hynson on piano and accordion; Mike Hynson on guitar and harmonica; Pete Komsiski on fiddle and mandolin; Matthew Silver on upright bass; Eddie Venable on drums; and Geri Neita on bodhran and vocals.
Yes, Jan is definitely driving tonight! Join us on the evening of Thursday, May 7, as we celebrate St. Jerry's Day! Although not known by many (and not recognized by most), St. Jerry's day commemorates the 61st anniversary of the birthday of an Irish-American (ahem) "saint." We'll be featuring draft beer specials and giveaways, and we'll be featuring a once-in-a-lifetime band (Rufus & Claudia from Siochain and the Whigmalleries and Dmitri from Hogeye Navvy and Ennis Clare), will be performing on stage starting around 9 PM. See you there!
Mark your calendars for Seven Nations, playing Tuesday, May 5 at 9 PM, only at Nine Irish Brothers. (And be ready to call in sick on Thursday). Seven Nations is a high-energy, kick-arse national Celtic Rock act.
Back from a successful European tour, this national act from Canada delivers a strong and fiery live show. Searson has developed a contemporary style of high energy roots, celtic, country and pop, a sound that they are known and loved for.
It's been far too long since we've had Roger Drawdy and his band The Firestarters. This energetic Celtic rock group features many great original tunes as well as some of the best rock arrangements of traditional songs we've heard, and we're happy to have them back Friday at 9 PM.
Searson breaks in Nine Irish Brothers East on Wednesday, April 29!
Due to a scheduling snafu, we're able to bring Mother Grove back to NIBW this Saturday, April 25th, at 9 PM. Mother Grove is a talented, in-your-face Celtic rock band with a huge sound and a great stage presence. Get here early because seats will be hard to find at nine.
